Alternative titel: When was the last time you cried?

My contest entry for Restoration day over at Holographic-Forest !
My partner was Tristia, the poor tragic bab. Shimmer and I quickly agreed on that Ella and Tia would be good friends and since Tristia lost her soulmate and Saelia lost her mother and had to take on the mother-role for her brother, which is kinda what they're crying over in the last panels,
the two of them had good potential to bond. Speaking of panels, i hadn't had a real break since the contest started and it's kinda in the middel of the night so i'm going to bed, i'm tired and the video was making it hard for me when i tried to upload and i cried a little but it's fine, cuz tomorrow i will do nothing!

This video covers Tristia and Saelia meeting up and them finishing off the night.

Updated the video with a newer and improved version, i'm very proud to say that it's now finished! :D

They had decided to meet up in the clearing before the festival. Saelia was a little more than nervous but she tried to smile brightly despite the heavy beating of her heart. She had no idea how to do this.

"Okay, you can do this, just go up to her and say hi." She told herself. Saelia knew very little of the skywalker she was accompanying, it was the first time she was joining in on the festival. On her head and bound to her side were two beautiful flower crowns, she had been working one them for the entirety of the week, and she may have helped her brother make a few dozen when he had shown interest in handing them out at the festival. Her fur prickled in anticipation as she neared the clearing, a deep breath and she stepped out into the light.

On the damp grass laid a skywalker, Saelia felt herself stiffen as her muscle locked up. The other skywalker, Tristia was her name, looked absolutely regal. With silky looking white fur, golden accessories reflecting the warm rays of sun making its way through the tree crowns, on her forehead was an amethyst crystal in the shape of a teardrop, and eyes of deep water and sky-blue looked up at her. What was she going to say again? She couldn't remember.

Nearly tripping over her own legs, she stumbling for words as she came closer. She came to a still in front of the older skywalker who still waited for her to speak. Eventually she looked like she figured Saelia wasn't going to come with anything and started with a: "Hi."

Dropping the crown from her maw the youngest smiled. Like the single word had somehow kickstarted her. "I'm Saelia! It's very nice to meet you." She said and bowed her head slightly while still smiling. She gestured towards the crown on the forest floor, looking bright and well throughout. "I made you a crown, like my own… um… for the festival." she explained and picked it up again, waiting for permission to place it on the other's head.
Tristia seemed to stare at Saelia before giving a small smile and nodding. The crown adored her head beautifully, resting right above the crystal on her forehead. "I've made you a bracelet." Tristia said soon after, pulling out a bracelet made of flowers and leafs, much like Saelia's gift. Yellow eyes widened and
Saelia was practically beaming with joy not being able to control her emotions, her feet danced on the forest floor before forced coming to a still so she could put on the bracelet.
Tristia seemed glad and Saelia soon found herself sitting at her side talking like she was unable not too. She had been so nervous about meeting her partner, so scared of joining the festival, so absolutely terrified of getting a partner who might have wanted ...more. And she found herself unable to hold back, talking about everything and anything she could think of. Tristia seemed content to listen, until Saelia told her about her anticipation for the dance since it was her first time.

"Well... it's my first time at the dance as well…" the older skywalker admitted and Saelia could hardly believe her ears. She danced on the spot before blurting out. "I promise i will be the best first partner you'll ever have then! We're gonna have so much fun." She said and blushed. It took a moment for both of them to realize what had been said, a promise, quite innocent and what they both needed for tonight. They laughed, heartily and readily.

The moons of Ayrum had risen a long time ago and though the festival was still going at full speed it would soon come to an end. The last three days had passed in a blur. Saelia had long ago lost count of all the skywalkers she had meet and how many dances she had participated in. She had had a really great time. Tristia and she had had a great time, the older skywalker, though at first very receding, had proven on more than one occasion to be the perfect partner for Saelia to feel secure and being able to have fun. And just a few hours ago it had happened, Saelia had, not for the first time during the festival, asked Tristia to dance with her.

The older skywalker had only hesitated to a second before agreeing. Her blood had still been pumping fast when the dance had ended and she had quickly been whisked away to meet someone new.

But now Tristia was gone. The young one had searched everywhere for her, refused to join several skywalkers as she tried to find her partner. As she searched farther away the singing faded slightly, the lights grew dim and the night and moonlight covered her. She left the forest and was about to run farther when she stopped in her tracks. There, on the top of the hill was a single silhouette situated against the night sky.

Saelia approached quietly, unsure and slightly intrigued. "Tristia?" She started as she could make out the skywalker more clearly; sure that it was indeed her partner. "The party is still going, what are you doing up here?"

A small sniffle was her respond and as she came up at Tristia's side she could see clear, wet tears stream down the other's face. Saelia's ears flattened slightly and her mind raced until Tristia spoke.

"When i was younger, I had a very dear friend. She was mine and I was hers... Saelia have you ever looked at anyone and just known, known in your very soul, they you were meant to face the world together?" She asked in a hushed tone, her voice barely holding from breaking as she spoke. Saelia shook her head, unable to form words. Tristia scoffed sadly as more tears pushed their way down her cheeks. Of course the younger one hadn't. And so she told her, so Tristia told Saelia of her first and truest love and how she had so tragically lost her. Her dearest Malia.

Saelia sat by her side for a while, completely quite but clearly thinking. A sniff from her side caused Tristia to look down at her. The youngest was crying with her, crying for her. "I'm sorry." She said "That's really horrible, I’m so sorry..."

Tristia said nothing, what could she said, it was horrible but it was her reality.

"My mother died when i was young" Saelia said suddenly, she scoffed at herself before correcting. "Or younger i guess." She tried to smile but it came out broken. "My father hardly sees me or my brother anymore, and i understand why but...." Tears rushed from her eyes as a cry escaped her lips, clearly desperate, clearly terrified. The emotions been bottled up for too long, the responsibility of looking after her brother being too great.

Tristia saw the pain, saw the fear and she knew, she understood. Her heart swelled and she allowed herself the freedom to cry. Knowing she wouldn't be judged, knowing that tomorrow neither would speak of it again, but knowing someone had listened and someone understood.

The only witness to this would be the moons of Ayrum, and the gods knew the moons could keep the secrets entrusted to them.
